FREESONG #13, How Lovely on the Mountains by Gerrit Gustafson, provides a way to say 'thank you' to the one who first told you about Jesus, or to your parents or pastor or mentor, or to anyone who brought you the good news: send them a song! Download the song, copy it to a CD and send a "musical thank you" with a personal note of appreciation. They'll be blessed!
How Lovely on the Mountains is based on Isaiah 52:7, where we find the poetic expression, "How lovely on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news." Gerrit wrote this song with his college roommate in mind, Bob Sutton. It was Bob who, in 1967, explained the gospel to Gerrit and lived it in such a way that made it believable to him.
Gerrit suggests: "Encourage your church to establish an annual Spiritual Fathers and Mothers Day that would be observed by sending notes and tokens of appreciation to those who introduced you to Christ. If your church doesn't do that, take it upon yourself to do it personally. Put a note on your calendar that comes up every year reminding you to express thanks to the messenger God used in your life. Call them up and tell them they have 'lovely feet.'"
